This baby owlet nightjar was found in the area that Tonya studies. A bunch of biologists wanted to see it, so it was captured and oggled at by us all.

We spent part of Nitzana’s birthday exploring the forest floor. She pulled up some mushrooms, ripped up a chantrelle, grabbed a newt, and held a banana slug a litle bit too tight. Banana slug slime doesn’t come off eaisly we learned today..
